The Hannunkivi holiday village is fun for the whole family
Swimming, fishing and a hike in the forest
In the summer, the beach with shallow water is perfectly suited for small children and located close to all the cottages. The Kivijärvi water system and the fine local fish stock enable even the smallest of the family to get a great catch. We offer fishing rods, and there is a special place for finding fishing worms in the area. The rowing boats of the holiday village are freely available, and we lend lifejackets for safe boating. The beautiful natural-state pine forest attracts children to safely explore the terrain, and Pietu deer’s nature trail with its exciting questions offers further pastime.
Joy of sports at Peltokangas sports park
The disc golf course located in the vicinity invites the whole family to have a nice game. Our reception rents out discs and a map of the area. The Peltokangas sports park also offers an excellent area for recreation with its three-kilometre sawdust track and great forest terrain. The tennis court with artificial turf completed in 2014 also serves our guests in the same area; equipment can be hired from our reception.
The grass field of the Hannunkivi area includes volleyball and badminton nets, as well as a large grass area reserved for other games and spending time together. Several yard games can also be hired from our reception for having fun. In the middle of the cottage village, there is a playing ground with swings, a playhouse and a slide. In addition, there is a minigolf course at a lakeside in the Kivijärvi centre (about two kilometres away); we also rent out equipment for it.
Hiking in the Salamajärvi National Park
There is a distance of approximately 23 kilometres from Hannunkivi to the Salamajärvi National Park. In the Park, there are hiking routes of varying lengths and the Koirasalmi main information point between the Iso Koirajärvi and Pieni Koirajärvi lakes is a nice place to visit for the whole family. There is a large hut and other campfire sites in the location.
Winter activities for the whole family
Cross-country skiing trails of different lengths leave from the Hannunkivi cottage area, extending for a total of about 50 kilometres; there is also a special trail for small children in the middle of the area. When the ice and snow conditions are good, skiing trails are also opened on the ice of Lake Kivijärvi. Kicksledding and skating are possible, when the ice conditions are favourable, on the long-distance skating trail around the Vasikkasaari island (2 km) and on the ice of the pond in the middle of the cottage village. Our reception rents out skiing equipment, kicksleds and skates.
The Peltokangas skiing resort
The Peltokangas skiing resort offers further possibilities for the whole family to have winter fun at Hannunkivi. A lighted three-kilometre skiing trail across a varied forest terrain offers great skiing opportunities while other family members can go downhill sledding. The ski slope, opened in 2014, is 130 metres long and 18 metres high. It is perfectly suited for training downhill skiing and sledding for people of any age. With the T-bar lift, even small children can easily get to the top of the hill (5.5 kW power on the lift). The lift is in operation during the winter season on the specified days of the week.
